What is AC Fan and its types

Fans installed or seen in shops again in the house are mostly AC fans and these fans are used the most. Why AC fans are used the most, it will be explained further in this article like what is AC fan, types of AC fan, parts of AC fan, advantages and disadvantages of AC fan. However, you should also remember that in today's time instead of AC fans, BLDC fans are proving to be much better because they reduce power consumption three times that's why.

What is AC Fan?

AC fan is called AC fan because this fan runs on alternating current i.e. ac current, that's why. AC current is the same current or electricity that is delivered to our homes. What I mean to say is that the electricity that is delivered to our homes is AC electricity ie AC current. Because of which the ac fan was made so that the fan can be run only with ac current because there are two types of current such as ac current and dc current.

AC fan is also called standard fan and it is used in maximum quantity because its cost is very less and these fans are easily available and the speed is also very fast.

Parts of AC Fan :

There are only three essential parts inside the AC fan, about which you will be told in detail which is as follows :

Parts of AC Fan
Parts of AC Fan

  • Motor :

The work of the motor is to rotate and only because of this rotation, the fan rotates. The motor is placed between two bearings so that the motor can hold its speed well. You should also remember that a total of three wires come out of the motor, whereas with the help of all three wires, the current is given to the motor. But the current is given to the motor through only two wires. With a three-wire motor, only the capacitor is installed so that two wires can come out on the outside and we can run the AC fan.

  • Capacitors :

The capacitor is definitely installed inside the AC fan so that the difference in the speed of the AC fan is not seen again and again due to the sudden increase or decrease of the voltage from outside. The capacitor helps to keep the voltage uniform so that the AC fan can get controlled speed. Capacitors also come according to different values and according to the motor of the AC fan, the capacitor is installed inside the ac fan.

  • Bearing :

Be it AC fans or any other fan bearings, then two must be installed, one of which is at the front and the other at the back and in the meantime the motor is kept.

Types of AC Fans :

Many types of AC fans will be seen and different AC fans are used for different tasks, about which you will be told below, which is as follows :

  1. AC Ceiling fan
  2. AC Table Fan
  3. AC Wall Fan
  4. AC Exhaust fan

AC Ceiling Fan :

AC ceiling fans are those fans that are installed on the ceiling itself to take air. AC ceiling fans are the biggest selling fans because their cost is low and there is no need to keep it from one place to another even on the ground. If you want to compare AC ceiling fan with BLDC fan, then they consume three times more power, due to which if you want to take energy saver fan, then BLDC fan will be right for you which runs on ac current.

AC Table Fan :

AC table fans are those fans that are used on the ground or by keeping a table. But they occupy the space separately because it has to be kept repeatedly from one place to another. AC tables consume twice the amount of electricity as compared to ceiling fans.

AC exhaust fan :

AC exhaust fans are also called fans which are used to remove the air inside. Such as to take out the air inside the houses and shops. While exhaust fans are also installed to remove the air inside devices like computers, laptops and inverters but they are DC exhaust fans.

AC Wall Fan :

AC wall fan which is installed on the wall and only AC wall fans are seen everywhere. AC wall fans are being used a lot these days, especially inside the fashionable rooms.

Benefits of AC Fan :

  1. The cost of AC fan is much less than that of BLDC fan.
  2. The speed of AC fan is very fast.
  3. AC fans run on only AC current.

Drawbacks of AC Fan :

  1. AC fans make more noise than BLDC fans.
  2. AC fans consume three times more power if compared to BLDC fans.
  3. AC fans do not operate on DC current.
  4. When the voltage is high or low, the speed of the AC fan also starts increasing or decreasing.
  5. When the power goes out, these fans start making noise when the AC fan is running on the inverter battery.
